“Lack of good scripts are more prevalent in both Tamil and Malayalam film industry” said Director Bharathiraja. Bharathiraja was on a visit to Thirichur for some personal reason and over there he interacted with journalists about his forthcoming flick Bommalaattam as well the bleak scenario of Tamil film industry. Kamal Hassan spoke about the modulations in Dasavatharam. For villain Fletcher’s role, his daughter Shruthi Haasan had suggested an English film for him to watch. He saw it and imitated a character’s style of talking. Kamal followed Bush’s walking style. For the Japanese character, he had a coach to teach him and also learned the martial art Aikido. For the CBI officer Balaram Naidu’s character, he used the Telugu slang of coastal Andhra region. In the Telugu version, they made the character as the Tamil speaking Balaram Nadar.
