Movie Review: Valluvan Vasugi

This is a story which has its relevance to the "Kizhakkae Pogum Rayil" period. But, Bharathi has narrated that with a Screenplay, which is of express speed and created surprise to everyone.

Ranjith has one Daughter and he showers his full love only on her. He is a Goat seller. But, he sharpens his sword against her Love. The Soul-searching Love is restricted by the blockades of that Village's elders. How the Lovers join with each other beyond all these problems is the Climax. This story has a very Good Back-drop! In the scenic village, when the Actor Ranjith is shown in top angle in the midst of the Goats and the Cows, we are definitely able feel the fragrance of our native Village's smell! They have a reason for their restriction that-no one should love in that village. But that reason is to be thrown in the 'Bogi'. In this kind of Village only, the Love blooms between the Ranjith's daughter Shwetha and the young Engineer who comes to that Village. Ranjith goes out of his village to graze the Goats and comes back after a period of 6 months. Ranjith comes to know about the Love-affair between her daughter and the Engineer and then the "RudhraThandavam" starts. We Fans, ourselves fear that whether Ranjith might kill Shwetha by just beating her. He beats her daughter so wildly. In spite of all these restrictions, their Love is too rigid and they both plan to run away. But they face problems even in those attempts! Till the end they have influenced even the fans to feel that this Love-pair should join hands with each other. The Screenplay is that much interesting!.

Ranjith has performed in an adorable manner. His pillow-sack like body look has disappeared and we are able to see him as Anandha Konar. He fears that the Daughter, whom he has taken care like a Flower, might bring insults to her. At last, he gets calm by the Mother sentiment and forgives Sathya (his daughter's Lover). Everything is O.K. But, how is it relevant for a person who does not respect his Mother, forgives a person by just hearing the word "Mother"?.

In the midst of the Goat-group, Shwetha looks like a Rabbit. In the first film itself, the Director has made her fullest performance to be projected to the audience. Her father suddenly comes to his house. Fearing for her father, she hides her Lover in the large storage jar. But, it's thrilling to watch her blabber out everything in fear. If she tries a little, she might get the chance to sing duets with leading Heroes.

The other new face is Sathya. He looks like a mixture of little Jayam Ravi, and a little of Ajith. He should improve his acting a bit. In the midst of irritating introductions in the Cinema industry, they both are like breeze!.

Bharathi has spoilt his own film by acting in this. In all the scenes in which he appears we tend to sense some kind of unidentifiable irritation. It can be said by some people for consolation that-it is the plus point of that character. If he identifies the truth, and restricts his acting, Kollywood would definitely celebrate him.

S.A.RajKumar has stood-out exceptionally in his Music. Even the Cinematography is very cool.

It seems that this 'Valluvan' is to win!
