‘Maru Avadharam’ features Murali in dual roles - a father and a son. Murali who was once among the top league of actors has finally come back after a long hiatus. Debutante Vilasini plays the heroine, while a newcomer Sathya plays a prominent role in Maru Avadharam.

The director of the ‘Maru Avadharam’ movie is K Balender. According to him, ‘Maru Avadharam’ is the story of the bond between a brother-sister and their affection. Action and romance also find place in the Maru Avadharam movie.

The Madras High Court on April 30 had declined to quash the cases registered against her and asked the City Metropolitan Magistrate to complete the trial within 6 months.

Khushboo in her appeal against the order of Madras High Court, alleged that the cases were false and frivolous, filed with the sole view of getting some cheap political publicity by certain group.

She also said that cases were filed when the by-election was slated in the state at the time of October 2005. She argued that the cases were against the freedom of expression guaranteed to the individuals under the constitution.

Now the title of Ravichandran’s company (Oscar) and official logo (Similar to original Oscar Academy’s) are getting in trouble. Since the title and logo of Oscar Award memento are owned and patented by Oscar Academy under international patent regulations, nobody could have had the rights to use the logo or title in any form worldwide. This is clearly mentioned in Oscar Academy’s official website also.

But Ravichandran has been using both the logo and title for the past 15 years in all the films he distributed and produced. But for the first time, it has been caught into trouble just because of the over hype and worldwide publicity after Jackie Chan’s connection with Ravi’s yet to be released Dasavatharam.

According to Scott Miller of Oscar Academy, the organisation would be sued on Ravichandran to pay a huge amount as fine for using their legal entity in cheap films When our correspondent contacted ‘Oscar Films Pvt Limited’ office at Chennai, the producer told that he he had not got any notice or communications from Oscar Academy regarding the issue. However, he said that he would be ready to face the consequences in proper ways.

Here is good news for Indian Film Industry, of course for Rajini fans. The cost of Ocher Studios-Adlabs-Warner Bros joint venture Sultan The Warrior featuring an animated Rajinikanth in a full length 3D movie touched Rs.700 million, said sources from its financier Exim Bank on Saturday.

According to the source, Sultan The Warrior will be the first ever costliest animated feature film in India and the business is expected to generate at least Rs.2.50 billion. The producers announced that the film would hit more than 1700 screens worldwide simultaneously.

“It began as a small Rs.70 million venture, but the unprecedented success of Shivaji last year saw it zoom past Rs.250 million and has now touched ten times its original cost,” another believable source revealed.

While Ocher Studios is owned by Soundarya, daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth, Adlabs is owned by Anil Ambani. It is remembered that actor Ajith Kumar has been signed to play a key role in Ocher Studios’ untitled solo maiden venture in feature film segment, Soundarya told reporters on Saturday. Work on the Ocher-Warner Bros joint venture, a sequel to Rajinikanth’s earlier Blockbuster Billa (recently remade for Ajith) will begin in April next year.

The film will also see Rajnikanth romancing Kushboo, Trisha, Nayantara, Sneha, Mamata Mohandas and other actresses in a special song sequence. G.V. Prakash has scored a peppy number sung by Daler Mehndi, Sadhana Sargam and Chithra. The movie is directed by P. Vasu for Kavithalaya productions. Vasu is now shooting in and around Pollachi with Vadivelu, Pasupathy, Meena and others.

The producers of Sarithiram wanted Padmapriya to act in the movie and sent out message to her to ask if she was willing to act in the movie. They needed a heroine who was brave enough to emote the feelings of a silambattam artiste. Well, why would a heroine who got slapped by the director for not emoting the climax well, act with the director again?. This might have been the feelings of Padmapriya when she was approched for Sarithiram. Anyway the actress has rejected the offer.

Recently the one year ban on director Samy was lifed. The hunt for a suitable heroine is on now.

After the hit of Anjathey the actor has been listening nearly 200 scripts to give another promising hit like Anjathey. Finally Sivakumar’s script satisfied the actor a lot and he requested the director to launch the film without any delay. The producer will be a corporate concern and the shooting will start in the first week of June in Madurai.

Narain says, “I felt that Pookada Ravi is the apt one for me and there is enough scope to show the variations in the character. I hope it will help me to keep my present position in the Industry…”
