An embodiment of perfect film is all we have got to say about Dasavatharam. Put down the controversies and hurdles that this flick faced and today it makes up for all. Blending science and spirituality and of course the unforgettable disaster Tsunami together, this is an awesome movie delivered by K.S.Ravikumar and Kamal Haasan. For sure, it looks like the core of Dasavatharam bloomed up with Kamal Haasan on the day of Tsunami that had hit before four years.
If 10 Avatars were ideated by Kamal Haasan, Director K.S.Ravikumar has well executed these characters weaving relationship between each of them. Each and every character on screen has something to do more crucial throughout 3 hours of spine chilling thriller.
In simple, Dasavatharam is about a God’s statue that weaves a network between 10 characters played by Kamal Haasan…
The film opens with Govindarajan (Kamal Haasan), a scientist from NASA addressing a huge crowd at Nehru Stadium where Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and American President George Bush seated as chief guests. In his speech, Govindarajan speaks about the history of a statue that has passed through many ages carrying supernatural power. Immediately, with no fraction of seconds you are taken back to 12th century where Raja Nambi (Kamal Haasan) wildly attacks his king’s soldiers removing a God’s statue from the temple. Enraged King Raja Kulothunga (Napoleon) has Raja Nambi tied to the statue and thrown into the sea.
Straight off to the 21st Century, the scene starts with December 20, 2004 where Govindaraju aka Govind (Kamal Haasan) is shown formulating a biological weapon at NASA. But situations are tougher, when the weapon goes high in demand and people are right behind to grab it… The tale further moves about for other 4 days where 9 different characters encounter each other.
Grandeur indeed, the film has the best fascinating treat for the audiences who yearned to watch this flick for over many days. We are sure that Dasavatharam is sure to take Tamil cinema couple of steps ahead. If Kamal Haasan as Raja Nambi makes your emotions raised, for laughter you have CBI Naidu trickling your ribs with his laughter elements. Of course, this character travels right throughout the film and even the Hit Man on negative (again played by Kamal Haasan) does the same.
Excellence is more witnessed with the character of American President George Bush. Not alone about his makeover we are speaking about, but his very attributes of unknowledgeable personality makes whole lot of sense and this is real piece of neat work for those who are well versed the real man of United States.
The foolish conversations like ‘What is NACL?” is really throwing us all hitting the floors with intellectual comedy tracks.
Despite playing dual roles in the film, Asin hasn’t got much to do on her part, but her works are really outstanding and in particular her enunciating the Brahmin style is really mind blowing. Malikka Sherawat with an item number and few series of sequences perform equally well on the pars.
Well, its really breathtaking to see that Tsunami and a simple Statue have been rendered with powerful roles in this film. Technical aspects takes you all far behind your imagination, but graphic works are really unwanted for the moment. Cinematographer Ravi Varman for no specified reason keeps moving the camera up and down.
When it comes to Himesh Reshamiya and Devi Sri Prasad, both these buddies have rocked with splendid musical scores. ‘Oh Oh Sanam’ sang by Kamal Haasan is really good since it carries a good message. Devi Sri Prasad with his background scoring alone enhances the visual quality.
As a whole, things that make us sing appraisals of Dasavatharam are a grandeur work of Kamal Haasan and K.S. Ravi Kumar. But, will this flick hit the bull’s eyes among the front benchers is a big question.
Bottom - Line: Master of Tamil Cinema
Verdict: Kamal Haasan rules the screen

Hey the movie is simply rocking with ten avatars.Every Frame has made very carefully to make natural.in first half of the film is very fast and the second half initail some slow and then it resume his fast.
Here some people poted his comments that film is not good.I want to ask them a question?
Do they like sivaji?
Sivaji is better than dasavatharam?
if ur answer is “yes” Then u are ugly film tasting person. If u say no then may be in ur view the film doesnot meet ur expectation ,thats it.
But film has made simply super to satisfy art lovers, graphic lovers, screen players, action lovers, acting lovers and all department.
So eventhough some pitfalls remaining film overcome and made the film as complete entertrainer.
Kamal the only actor has the ability to do like this acting. No can touch his acting.
This film proves that not only masala movie can bag multi crore profit but also some good art, entertrain movie also.
3 Songs are very good when seeing with picturising
We wish to break all collection records of indian film. The film has the fit fot that.
Wonderful team work by dasavatharam teams, especially

The most horrible movie that was ever made!!!!
kamal hassan is nuts and a big fool to spend a fortune creating a crap like this!!!!
theme absolutely stupid, storyline crap!
acting by asin as the stupid village girl is the worst part!
her character reminds me of my dog that keeps barking with no reason just as she is chattering and making noises in the movie!
what a waste of TIME MONEY AND TALENT!
to sum up in just 4 letters:
SHIT

I was very eager to see this movie. but after watching i felt stupid my self. Movie is worth only to see some avatars of Kamal and tsunami. Otherwise it is totally flop. Huff! Asin to too much. She made to sleep in the theater that also in Kamal’s movie. Her overacting made the film flop orelse it would have better to watch. If i get the chance to see this movie once again i’ll never see..promise. Such a bakwas movie.
Please don’t compare Kamal and Rajini. Both are very special in their own way. So don’t go to compare!

To tell about the film, its good,nice,awesome,superb,extra-ordinary. Is there any other words in english to denote something is good????
June 25th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Film is super and shows the kamal as universal hero.
Can avoid stupid asin, because her acting is irritative and over.
June 25th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
film super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
proving that kamal the universal hero and can act different roles in a single film. But instead of acting different roles by single person can give to other individuals then it will be best.
Can avoid stupid asin because irritating over actions.

“Dasavatharam” kamal tried to do this movie for this title. He fully concentrate on charector’s not a screen play. I thing kamal forget to control ASIN. she spoile the golden footage of the movie. Kamal have his own manner to narrate the story, but this movie credit should go to some me other not to kamal/ravikumar. because they can’t take like this movie. begning and end i can see kamal, not the whole movie. the asin and her grand mother charector should be in 16th century not rt now.there s lot of thing to say about, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, kamal s not going to care about.

dasavatharam is only a better movie, but not that much good.when compared to sivaji ,dasavatharam is a big zero, especially asins overacting.actually,i did not understand the story of the movie, its really confusing.

Did they spend all that money for this crap? Seriously?? That was the worst graphics ever…The makeup looks like ‘Hellboy’. Asin was so irritating, I wanted to cry. Some roles were totally unnecessary. The dialogues are cheesy at places where seriousness is warranted. I am disappointed with Kamal, is this the same guy who gave us Nayakan, Mahanadhi, Anbe Sivam and many more classics. I hope the producer recovers his money, which I think he will do reading many of the comments here as a lot of people seemed to have liked the movie.
July 10th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
All stupid comments to be stopped. Kamal is the only one can achive this. Don’t cry about the huge success. Shivaji was a flop reported by medias after a month of it’s release. the disstributers were crying as well. So why do you people compare? All the best for kuselan and robot’s flop.

Dont compare dasavatharam with Sivaji cause dasa it”self is an extraordinary but sivaji its a totally rubbish. vangga palegelum what shit is this. can an indian accept kind of story then i consider dasa is 1000 times better any crap story.
August 26th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
I was eagerly waiting to see this movie because of all hype made in the media before it’s release. It’s a big dissapointment to me. This is just a crap. I am a Kamal fan too, but this is too much to bear.
Why does these people to spend so much of time and money to show some experimental stuff like this. First of all, his make up in all charactors looks very unnatural. There’s no expression in all of the “make-up” charactors. Over acting on kamal’s part is very evident.
Who in the world of science will let a dangerous viral sample to go into the hand of a third world backward woman and trying to get it back with politeness??? The law enforcement guys will storm the area and just go through a rampage to get it back.
Coincidences are too much. I was actually going to get out of the theatre after watching it for 30 minutes. Music is the lousiest.
Rather, I enjoy watching Toy Story, Cars, Rat-a-touille kind of movie than this. Although, they’re animations you get good plots, storyline and screenplay.
The graphics shown where the boats are sailing in the river looks lousy. You could spot the masking of the images visibly. The drowning of the car in waters looks very unreal and child graphic work.
Waste of money and it insults our intelligent.
BAD MOVIE.

Horrible movie. I only watched about 60%, got bored and binned the DVD. All makeup is unnatural and acting is horrible. I wonder who on earth spend so much money to produce such childish films.
