Vijay is keen to offset the debacle of his Minsara Kanna. At the audio launch of Aadhavan, Ilayathalapathy Vijay jestingly said that he was possibly the only actor who has not given a hit with director K.S. Ravikumar. Though Vijay said this jokingly, one could sense his anguish.
Minsara Kanna, the only movie which Vijay did with Ravikumar, turned out to be a non-starter at the box office. If Vijay was keen to set the record straight, Ravikumar also reflected his feelings. `Minimum Guarantee’ director K.S. Ravikumar blamed it on the script of Minsara Kanna, which, he revealed, was not complimentary to Vijay’s image. Ravikumar then assured Vijay that the two would work together in the near future and create a great hit.
Known as the ‘Minimum Guarantee director’, K.S. Ravikumar has shaped many a career. When Ajith was smarting after a string of failures, Ravikumar gave him a new lease of life with Villain. From superstar Rajinikanth to world star Kamal Haasan, every artist longs to work with Ravikumar. Seldom has a Ravikumar venture exceeded its budget or time frame.
