Chennai gearing up for Film Festival

6th Chennai International Film Festival will be commencing from 17 Dec till 26 Dec, 2008. The main highlights of the Festival are as it goes…. Retrospectives on Alain Resnais – France, Aki Kaurismaki – Finland, Fatih Akin – Germany, Kim-Ki-Duk – Korea would be held. Great Tribute would be paid to versatile personalities in the World of Cinema for their spellbinding contributions and it goes for Keisuke Kinoshita – Japan and C.V. Sridhar – India.

The country that would be mainly focused this time is on Russia and Main theme is on Warsaw with 5 films from Poland being screened on it. World films from Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary – 5 films, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Spain, Turkey and three Tamil films ‘Anjathey’, ‘Subramaniapuram’ and ‘Kanchivaram’ would be screened along with it. Also other regional films of Indian Panorama would be screened.
