The Nadigar Sangam functionaries yesterday announced that there would be no action taken against Asin, who had not attended the hunger strike organised by Tamil Film Industry in support of the Hogenakkal Issue. Last Saturday, the actress met top level functionaries of Nadigar Sangam including its President Sarath Kumar and Secretary Radha Ravi and explained why she could not participate in the protest.
Finally, everything ended well and the functionaries seemed much satisfied with her answer. Sarath Kumar, the President of Nadigar Sangam said, “there was no fault of Asin. Our people couldn’t properly convey the message to Asin. So no action will be taken against the actress. We received letters from others too. We will discuss the further action on those letters later.”
What did she tell in her explanation?
One of the top functionaries, who also attended the meeting with Asin, reveals what Asin told in her ‘oral explanation’.
According to him she said, “I’m very sorry sir, I was caught up in hectic schedule for my Ghajini Hindi version on that day. In fact, nobody has informed me about the fasting and protest and I don’t know anything about the interstate disputes of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on Cauvery issue.”
On the same evening the actress took flight to Hyderabad and said a big bye to Chennai.
