Neelambari fame actress Ramya Krishnan is stepping in television serials for the first time. She will be seen in Kalasam, a mega serial on Sun TV, which promises to be different from all the tearful family dramas that are being currently aired on TV.
Kalasam for a change will deal with the difficulties that lead protagonist Ramya Krishnan will face in her work place. After the end of Porandha Veeda Pukunda Veeda, this new serial has taken the prime slot of 8.30 to 9.30 pm.
In this serial, Ramya Krishnan is doing double roles. One of them is Neelambari, a character she played in the Rajini-starrer Padayappa and the other is Rajini, an ordinary middle-class woman competing with business tycoon Sudha Chandran and fighting male chauvinism.
The serial is written by Kutty Padmini and produced by daughter Keerthana jointly with Ramya Krishnan’s Sister Vinaya Krishnan. MR Senthil Kumar is directing the serial.
However television is not a new medium for Ramya Krishnan, who was earlier seen in Thangavettai, a popular game show on Sun TV produced by Radhika Sarath Kumar’s Raadan TV.
